Welcome to Burroughs Room 142!
I am so excited to be back for my fifth year at Burroughs! I made the big move last year from the second grade team to my favorite grade-- kindergarten-- and it was a great year!
A little bit of information about me......
I have taught for Minneapolis Public Schools since 1993. I am a graduate of Concordia College (Go Cobbers!) in Moorhead with a degree in psychology and I earned my elementary teaching credentials at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. In 2013, I completed the K-12 Reading Specialist License at the University of Minnesota. I live in Saint Paul with my husband Eric, who is a school social worker at Pratt School in Minneapolis. Our daughter, Kiera, is a junior at the University of Minnesota and like her mom is studying psychology. Like her dad, she wants to be a social worker! Our son Calvin, lives in Saint Paul and works for the Minnesota United FC. His fiance, Sam, is completing her studies to become an optometrist. I love spending time with my family, being in nature (especially on a lake), reading and knitting.
I consider it a privilege to teach your child and to work with your family. I am definitely one of those folks who feel like teaching children is one of the joys of my life. Early childhood is an amazing time in life and I want to make your child's kindergarten experience a wonderful one!
The very best way to get in touch with me is by email. My email address is Julie.Ziegler@mpls.k12.mn.us.
